General Information
The present Course on Transversal and Digital Competences is part of the Erasmus+ KA2 Project «Fostering the Transversal and Advanced Digital Competences in Higher Education». The course is taught in this LMS platform («Sollertia») through 5 independent modules (2 ECTS per module), and each one is intended to be completed in two weeks following the next scheduling:
o From October 14 to 25. Module 4. Protecting personal data and privacy. Prof. Sergio Gálvez Rojas.
o From October 28 to November 08. Module 2. Collaboration through digital technologies. Prof. Andy Veltjen.
o From November 11 to 22. Module 1. Browsing, searching, filtering and managing data, information and digital content. Prof. Rasa Pocevičienė.
o From November 25 to December 06. Module 3. Developing digital content. Prof. Ioan Stefan Sacala.
o From December 9 to 20. Module 5. Solving technical problems. Prof. Klen Čopič Pucihar.
What needs to be done in each module?
Each module has 12 topics and each topic has three 1-page lessons. It is recommended yo to read at least one topic per day and take its self-assessment test.
Participation points are awarded:
o 10 points for each intervention in the forums, including answers to other classmates' interventions.
o 5 points for doing each self-assessment test.
o 1 point for viewing each lesson or content.
The second week of each module there is a 36-question test (to be solved in 45 minutes) that is worth 40% of the grade. Correct answers have a value of 1 pt. each where bad answer have a value of -0,25 pts. You have three tries and only the las mark will be kept.
The practical part has a value of 60%:
o If you have more than 200 participation points you only have to do one practice. This should be the normal case: one practice per module.
o If you have between 100 and 200 participation points, you have to do two practices.
o If you have less than 100 participation points, you have to do three practices.
The mandatory practices will be specified by the teachers. Any other practices and additional activities are optional to deepen knowledge.
To pass a module you have to obtain, at least, the 50% of its mark.
Other considerations
Since this is an international course, the contents are in Spanish, Dutch, Romanian, Lithuanian, Slovenian and English. It is highly encouraged that you ask your questions and give your answers in English, so the rest of the international students may understand you. If you do not manage well with English, please write your text in your local language into Google Translate and convert them into English. In addition, you can also translate your classmates' answers into your language using the opposite method.
Remember
o In your Dashboard, at the right column-bottom, there is an AI-powered Virtual Magister that helps you with the most basic questions.
o Participation is highly encouraged and you earn points each time that you interact with Sollertia. Points are exchanged for fewer practices to do.
o The professor responsible of each module will be available to answer your questions during the two weeks assigned to each of them. However, it is highly intended that most of the questions be resolved by other classmates and the professors' intervention be reduced.
